Seafood at Bukit Tinggi?

.

Seafood at Bukit Tinggi?!! Where did they get their seafood from??!! That was my first question when I got an invite to join a dinner there.. =p

I was told that the owner can be a bit rude / annoying. Make sure you order your food all at one go as you might get cheesed off when you got told off by the owner such as - "Enough-lah, so much food, you can't eat finish later!"..haha.. Yet, People still throng into this restaurant because of the somewhat special prepared dishes. We reached the restaurant by 6pm-ish. The owner was not in sight, we were approached by a lady to take our orders instead :) Pheews..

Beside this sign, there was a sign painted over with white paint on the wall that indicates the restaurant was previously a car wash centre =p

Deco in the restaurant - quite creative..Umbrellas with "who knows who's signatures" hanging on the ceiling...

Empty wine bottles on the shelves..another 'reuse, recycle" deco concept? ;)

Bring your own wine - the restaurant won't charge you corkage charges ;)
While waiting for the food..sipped on coconut drink.. but it wasn't as good as the Pandan Coconuts I drank before.. skip this! :p

They sell pure honey too

Usually it takes quite some time for the food to be served but since we were early and there's only about three tables with diners, food was served quite fast.. probably 15-20mins? I was told previously Piggy Chel and her Monkey D has got to wait for an hour!
Tilapia Fish - the skin is crystalized with sea salt - take it off and enjoy the soft flesh.. it's fresh! It's as if it's steamed! Haven't come across this method of cooking before for fishes.. =p

A pond behind the restaurant where the live fishes swims ..
hmmm.. now I feel sad they get cooked ;(

Half Rack of Roasted Lamb with Mint Sauce @ RM 60

A MUST TRY!!!!!!!!!!!! SUPER FINGER LICKIN' & SMACKING LIPS GOOD!
While we were there, we saw another table with a group of 10-12 paxs ordered a dish of lamb leg which looked quite huge and we're tempted to try that out on our next visit!
Green Chillis cooked with Chillis - yeap that was what they call it! LOL! This tasted YUMMYLICIOUS!!! Will come back for more!

Even the grains of rice were so fluffy and fragrant (my mom actually gave a thumbs up when she visited here)

Seafood Platter / Pot - Crab, Prawns, Scallops, Clams and some other stuffs.. =p Wished there were more crabs though!
Close Up on Seafood Platter - wished there were more CRABS!!
You'll get to enjoy Soup with Oyster Mushrooms + Water Crest after the top layer of tray that "housed" the seafood platter. (The waiter will remove the soup from the double boiler and put them in a bowl it for you)
Sweetness of the seafood stock and gingers made it quite a refreshing soup!
I've forgotten how much are the rest of the cost of each food item except for the lamb..Total bill amount up to RM 193 for 3 pax.. A bit to the pricey side but it was yummy food =D
Time to visit casino at Genting Highlands after dinner? Hehehhehee...

Directions? (I hope I get it right! LOL!)
About an hour drive away from Kuala Lumpur / Petaling Jaya..Drive towards Genting Highland / Bukit Tinggi - After Genting Sempah Tunnel, as you got into Bukit Tinggi town, look out for the road sign "Elektrik Solar" on your left, as soon as you see it, drive slower, look out for a left turn. Turn left on the first turning and immediately take right. Drive on and turn left upon reaching another T-junction (road sign shows Bentong = to the left). Look out for a BHP Petrol Station on your right, turn in, there's a small road next to the station, the restaurant is just behind the station.

Dream, You're Halfway To Destiny

Came across this song by chance when I really needed a boost of positive reminder :)

If You Dream
by Tank, Tyrese, Toni Braxton, Faith Evans, JoJo, Omarion, Jamie Foxx

I never thought the sun would shine my way
All I've known is empty promises and pain
I need a way out or some type of escape
So I take refuge in this place

Even though the road to glory seems long
The fire in me could win a marathon
Believe there's nothing you can't overcome

If you dream, then you can do anything
If you dream, you're halfway to destiny
If you dream, dream the impossible
If you dream, cause a dream's unstoppable

I could've gave up a long time ago
Though the door I need to get through will always close
Storms and Rain everywhere I go
But I don't give up cause I know

Even if they say you just can't win
Believe you can go where you've never been
And you can fly high with the strength of all your friends

If you dream, then you can do anything
If you dream, you're halfway to destiny
If you dream, dream the impossible
If you dream,

cause a dream's unstoppable

Dream
That you can fly,
Dream
That you can climb
Dream
A mountain, all you gotta do is just
Dream

That you can win,
Dream
With Confidence
Dream
To the very end cause dreamers become champions
Dream
Until it's real,
Dream,
Don't let them kill your
Dream

The fight still is in you, all you gotta do is
Dream,
Just keep the faith,
Dream,
Don't ever break
Don't let it slip away cause all you gotta do

Even though the road to glory seems long
The fire in me could win a marathon
Believe there's nothing you can't overcome

If you dream, then you can do anything
If you dream, you're halfway to destiny
If you dream, dream the impossible
Dream, then you can do anything
Dream, you?re halfway to destiny
Dream, dream?s unstoppable

Dream, dream, dream
Dream, dream, dream
Dream, dream, dream
Dream, dream, dream

Moderately Depressed?

*by MystiqueAsh*

She remembers the feeling of being in bliss
And having the peace of mind and soul..
PRICELESS!!

Yet..More than often, DEPRESSION sets in,
Sometimes it caused her to be so out of tune..
She knows,
Staying depressed for too long eats her up..
Starts to holler at herself:
Think of happy thoughts!
Think of cheerful moments!
Think of all the love she received from God, family and friends!
Think of the many smiles and laughter shared between them all!

A voice says: C’mon! You can do it!
Another says: Forget it, no matter what you do, it’s USELESS!

NO! Ain’t giving up!!
She held her head high and tells herself,
She would be HAPPY again!

Life is full of emotional ups and downs. But when the "down" times are long lasting or interfere with an individual's ability to function, that person may be suffering from a common, but serious psychological problem – depression. Stress can be a factor to depression but a person may be depressed even without a stressful lifestyle.

Depression is a major risk factor for suicide. Thoughts of death or suicide are a serious symptom of depression, so take any suicidal talk or behavior seriously. It's not just a warning sign that the person is thinking about suicide: it's a cry for help.

Depression in men
Depressed men tend to complain about fatigue, irritability, sleep problems, and loss of interest in work and hobbies. Other signs and symptoms of depression in men include anger, aggression, violence, reckless behavior, and substance abuse. Even though depression rates for women are twice as high as those in men, men are a higher suicide risk, especially older men.
Depression in women
Rates of depression in women are twice as high as they are in men. This is due in part to hormonal factors, particularly when it comes to premenstrual syndrome (PMS), premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), postpartum depression, and perimenopausal depression. It affects their physical well-being (gaining / losing weight), chronic fatigue, sleep problems, and changes in appetite. It affects the way they think, interfering with concentration and decision making. Therefore, their behaviour is affected, with increased irritability and loss of temper, social withdrawal, and a reduction in their desire to engage in pleasurable activities.
Helping Yourself
Depressive disorders make you feel exhausted, worthless, helpless, and hopeless. Such negative thoughts and feelings make some people feel like giving up.
  • Do not set difficult goals for yourself, or take on additional responsibility.
  • Break large tasks into small ones, set some priorities, and do what you can as you can.
  • Do not expect too much from yourself too soon, as this will only increase your feelings of failure.
  • Try to be with other people; it is usually better than being alone.
  • Force yourself to participate in activities that may make you feel better.
  • Try engaging in mild exercise, going to a movie, a ball-game, or participating in religious or social activities.
  • Don't overdo it or get upset if your mood is not greatly improved right away. Feeling better takes time.
  • Do not make major life decisions, such as changing jobs, getting married or divorced, without consulting others who know you well and who have a more objective view of your situation. In any case, it is advisable to postpone important decisions until your depression has lifted.
  • Do not expect to snap out of your depression. People rarely do. Help yourself as much as you can, and do not blame yourself for not being up to par.
  • Remember, do not accept your negative thinking. It is part of the depression and will disappear as your depression responds to treatment.
  • Get help from a professional. No matter how much you want to beat it yourself, a psychologist can help you recover faster.
