St Anne Feast Day 2011

Every year I try to make it a point to make a pilgrimage to St Anne's Church Bukit Mertajam  for St Anne's Feast Day. The actual feast day falls on 26th of July and usually there will be a 10 days Novena celebration in conjunction with the feast day. The candle light vigil / mass will usually be held on a Saturday in between the 10 days Novena.

PRAYER TO SAINT ANNE
Dear Saint Anne,
I praise god and honor you for having been given the grace to be the mother of the Blessed Virgin Mary and grandmother of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Many who have impored your help have felt the happy effects of your goodness and powerful intercession. Encouraged by this thought, I humbly implore you, O good Saint Anne to hear my request

O loving Saint Anne, whose heart is ever full of human sympathy for those in trouble, pain or anxiety, have pity on me and grant me your favour as you have done for others in so many wonderful cases for the greater glory of God. Help me to know, love and follow Jesus by being a concerned citizen and an active member of His Church and to reach Heaven, there to praise God with you forever and ever.

Liverpool Asia Tour 16-Jul-11

The last time I watched Liverpool was at Singapore in year 2009, where they played against the Singapore National team.

This year, the Reds will be stopping by at Kuala Lumpur as part of their Asia Tour 2011.

Tickets were being sold at selected Adidas stores nationwide and online via TicketPro.

Venue : Bukit Jalil Stadium, Kuala Lumpur

Date : 16 July 2011

Time : 5.45pm

At 3.00pm, started the journey from Kelana Jaya Putra LRT station to Masjid Jamek station. From there, interchange to Masjid Jamek Ampang LRT to Bukit Jalil station. I thought I was early...but seems like EVERYONE had the same idea to be early!! @_@

LRT filled with Liverpool / Malaysia supporters. Look at the throng of people descending from the LRT..yeap.. I was sardined inside..luckily still able to BREATHE!!

As I walked out of the LRT, I could hear the crowds cheering and the whistle and honks were so LOUD!

Although there are more RED jerseys.. I observed that fans are cheering for both team =p

Standard Chartered Marathon 2011

Successfully coaxed by my friends, I agreed to participate in this year's Standard Chartered Marathon - 10km. My first participation was in 2009 for 5km run and a certificate of participation was given. This year I will make sure I collect my finisher medal for the 10km run!!! ^_^

Collection of Race Pack venue is no longer at Dataran Merdeka. Instead, it is held at Putra Stadium, Bukit Jalil.

Reached Putra Stadium around 7.30pm and the queue didn't look too bad at all..

A relief to know that I'll be able to get my dinner on time...heheheheh..

This year's starting point was at Jalan Parlimen..a few kilometres away from Dataran Merdeka.

From the website, it was made known that there will be a shuttle bus from Kelana Jaya LRT station to a drop off point near Jalan Parlimen between 4am - 6am on 26June but I think I missed the 5.45am bus. Took the LRT to Masjid Jamek station instead. By the time I reach the starting point, the 10km runners has just been flagged off!! Not bad huh my timing.. as soon as I reach - START RUNNING!!!

The marathon begins! It drizzle a little but thankfully it stopped after a while.

Route include a trip to Little India!

Sad - They just drink and throw the cups on the road... Sigh...

Toilet break!! Not for me!!

*I can't help to feel sorry for the girl - it's like she's saying" FASTER!!! I can't hold it much longer~"

With most of the time walking and probably a slow jog of 2-3km out of 10km, I finally reached the finishing line at 01:43::44. I ranked at 2155 out of approximately 10,000 of 10km runners? Not bad eh!?? I am at top 3000!!! HAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!!!

Hahahaha.. actually this is not a well deserved medal..I should actually regard it as a "souvenir" instead =p

Would I join next year's marathon? Uhhh.... I'll think about it =p (For so many days, my legs suffered muscle pain..can barely walk up/down the staircase looking normal..) So.. yeah.. I'll decide next year if I wanna participate or not =p
